Born in Toronto, Dr. Schwartz moved stateside at the age of 3 and grew up in Anaheim. He currently lives in Los Angeles and is an voracious sports fan.   Dr. Schwartz grew up in California, and like most of the physicians here at UFAI, recognizes the west tailspin as the weightier coast! He graduated from University of California at Irvine with Honors, majoring in the biological sciences. He then went on to study Podiatric Medicine at the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco. Dr. Schwartz completed his residency at the Southern California Podiatric Medical Center, an unite of the USC Medical Center.   Dr. Schwartz is a member of the AmericanWorkbenchof Foot and Ankle Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He received his workbench certification in 1986.   A stand-out physician, Dr. Schwartz runs Operation Footprint, a non-profit organization that provides training, medical supplies, and reconstructive surgery to Honduran children born with major podiatric disabilities, particularly clubfeet. Dr. Schwartz has been involved with this project since 1978. As Chief Surgeon Emeritus, Dr. Schwartz now serves as co-director, supervising and training the new corps of operating surgeons.   Operation Footprint is moreover single-minded to providing medical training and demonstrations to local physicians, residents-in-training, and nurses to recognize, diagnose, and treat clubfeet in children.
