Home UFAI's Foot &ToddleSurgeons and Physical TherapistsDr. Avanti Redkar, DPM + TextSize – Dr. Avanti Redkar, DPM Updated 1/18/2019 Dr. Avanti Redkar is workbench certified in podiatric medicine and joined UFAI under a fellowship in sports medicine and toddle reconstruction. She specializes in foot and toddle pathology and moreover completed a dermatopathology fellowship in Alpharetta, Georgia. Born in Pune, India, she and her family immigrated to Auburn, Alabama when she was four years old and then settled lanugo near Scranton, Pennsylvania when she was eight. She attended undergrad at the University of Scranton and graduated with a stratum in biology. From there, she attended SUNY Buffalo to earn a Master’s stratum in nutrition, and then podiatry school at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. She completed her surgical residency at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, New York, where she was trained in foot and rearfoot surgery, wound care, and hyperbaric medicine. Like many at UFAI, Dr. Redkar loves to move and enjoys an zippy and vibrant recreational life. Growing up, she would rencontre her parents and younger brother to games of tennis. She unfurled to play sports throughout upper school, and during her time as an undergrad she competed in intramural soccer with her fellow biology “nerds” on a team dubbed “The Double Helix.” She moreover loves swimming, hiking and several intense workout programs. However, for Dr. Redkar, none of these activities compares to dancing. Dr. Redkar is a classical Indian dancer, trained in the tradition of bharata natyam. She started taking bharata natyam classes in middle school and unfurled dancing for ten years. Bharata natyam dancers progress through their training by reaching increasingly increasingly challenging levels, and upon completing all levels, a dancer performs solo for two and a half hours at a graduation ceremony, tabbed an arangetram. Although Dr. Redkar loved dancing, the rigorous training required to master the precise steps and statuesque poses was nonflexible on her feet. She repeatedly twisted her toddle and regularly ripened calluses and painful blisters. She visited several doctors for help, with no luck until she finally saw a podiatrist. He showed her the proper strapping and offloading devices that could help ease the pain. The good doctor plane attended the recurrence to squire should anything happen to Dr. Redkar’s ankle. To this day, she swears that “without my podiatrist, I would not have been worldly-wise to perform!” Dr. Redkar, DPM is misogynist for consultation at our Mid-Wilshire and Beverly Hills locations. Save Save Save Save Save Save Dr. Redkar Yelp Patient Review, in her own words... The pursuit five star Yelp review was posted by University Foot andToddlepatient, Takashi. In March of 2017, I ruptured my left achilles tendon while playing sports. My orthopedic surgeon at the time gave me basically only one option, unshut surgery. I did some research and discovered there was flipside option, PARS (percutaneous Achilles repair system). This type of surgery was less invasive and the recovery time was much faster. My orthopedist did not offer this, he only offered unshut surgery. University Foot &Toddlewas the name that unchangingly came up while researching PARS. I scheduled an visit and met with Dr. Redkar. Dr Redkar was warming and ruminative from the first encounter. She gave me 2 options, non operative which require months of tossing or surgery with PARS technique. Of course, I opted for the PARS surgery technique. During my whole experience, from office visits to surgery then follow ups, Dr Redkar and the office staffs were incredible. I'm on my way when to normal now, and I owe it all to Dr Redkar. Thank you so much. Click here to see Takashi's review on Yelp.com.
